Web Template FAQ
How do I open the .zip file?
InZones web templates are a collection of html (web) pages and associated graphics. They have been collected into one compressed file with WinZip© to make the files easier to download. You will need WinZip or StuffIt Expander to open the file.
One of the following free applications will open your file.
How do I edit the files?
Your .zip file will contain a collection of files and, in some cases, nested files in folders. First create a folder on your hard drive to contain the website, then drag all of the files and/or folders into the new folder that you created. Then you can use any standard web editing program to edit the files such as Dreamweaver, Front Page, Contribute, or GoLive. Follow the directions that come with the software application for instructions on how to edit the files. It is also possible to edit these files with Microsoft Word or Publisher, but the changes that you make may not always be visible on every browser.
How do I make my web pages visible on the web?
Every website has a unique Domain Name, also called a URL (uniform resource locator). The first thing you need to do is to register a domain name for your website. Then you have to select a web hosting company that will make your website accessible on the web.
There are many companies that offer Domain Name registration and web hosting. Some are better than others. We like GoDaddy (www.godaddy.com) because it offers affordable domain registration and web hosting. Plus they excellent 24-hour online and phone support.
